Get to Know PJ & A (1/2)

Hey friends! The last couple weeks have flown by, and lots of life happenings have gone down with them. As I'm sure the majority of you know through social media, I am now officially Mrs. Cosentino! (Actually, not legally officially, thanks to the good ol' name changing process. But a pastor pronounced us man & wife, so that works, right?)

Seeing as PJ is now my huuuusband (boy that has a nice ring to it), I thought it was time for you guys to officially meet him! As in, through the internet. Because that's how all of us bloggers do things, right?

So, I give you part 1 of the 2 part "Get to Know PJ & A" vlog series. It's divided into 2 parts because this was our very first vlog, and we are clearly both talkers. My far-too-serious face in this video can be accredited to my brain thinking "this video is going to be wayy too long", as displayed by my abrupt ending of this first part.

But don't you worry, I'm much more cheery faced in the next video, when I decided to heck with the timing. Maybe we'll be the only ones who listen to 10 minutes of Q&A with PJ&A, but if you happen to join us, I do hope you enjoy!

About This Girl

I've done this before, but I've been seeing some new faces around here, so I figure it's time for a standard introduction post. If you're a newbie, please comment and say hello! Leave a link to your blog, because I'd love to stop by and get to know you.

The name's Amy, and the blog is Sweet Home Santa Barbara. Sweet Home SB is pretty much a reflection of my life, and seeing as the last 2 years have been jam packed with a whooole lot of growth and change, you bet this bloggy here has gone through its fair share of changes as well.

I really, really love Jesus. And lately, that's been taking the fore front on this here blog. After a long day sprinkled to the brim with both work and fun, I love nothing more than coming here to pour out my heart for anyone who enjoys reading.

This ain't no place for rainbows and butterflies (I apparently like to pretend I'm Southern sometimes). You can count on the fact that I keep it real. I really do love sharing my struggles with you, because I have no doubts that someone, somewhere, will find encouragement through them. The same way that I find encouragement every day through all of you amazing bloggers out there. We're all in this together, eh? (Gotta throw some Canadian in there, too).

If you're into the serious stuff, you can check out my story with purity, alcohol, or an eating disorder. Don't worry though, I don't always keep things super heavy. I love to blog about my amateur passion for running, and the beauty of the Santa Barbara life. To see where I put in my 40 hours a week, you can read all about my corporate world here.

My social media form of choice is definitely Instagram. You can find me at @sweethomesb, where you'll also find too many pictures {nosuchthing} of coffee, fashion, Santa Barbara scenery and fun adventures with amazing people I'm blessed to call friends.

I was born and raised to be a Boston fan, so you better believe I proudly rep that gear whenever the opportunity arises.

And I think that's enough about me. So tell me about you?

**PS: A very special thank you to all of the Veterans out there. "Thank you" does not even begin to cover how blessed we are by your service.**

My Life in 250 Words

I was born in San Diego, CA on June 29th, 1989. First child in my family, and boy did I give my parents a run for their money with my colic. So much so that they waited another 5 years before having my brother, and 15 years before having my sister. I’ll let you guess which of those wasn’t planned ;).

Growing up, I played everything from soccer, to basketball, to softball. I swam on swim team, gave gymnastics a shot, and broke some boards in karate. I loved theater, and was in a handful of plays. I got to try everything, and I’m so thankful for that.

In high school, I traded in my softball glove for a cheer uniform. I met some of my best friends to this day on that squad. I had my first serious relationship, and got my first job at 16. The studying paid off when I got accepted to UCSB, where I spent the next 4 years.

Studying math and economics took only a portion of my time, while the rest was spent having fun, making memories, and learning life lessons. When I graduated in 2011, I was ready for the real world. I had definitely made the most of my college experience.

Since college, life has only gotten better. I found Jesus,  and my faith. A girl who thought she’d be married at age 23 found independence instead. I always wanted a true love story, and I found mine with my faith.

For the Newbies

Oh, hello there!

I've been seeing some new folks around here lately (couldn't possibly have anything to do with the ginormous giveaway that I'm a part of, could it?), so I figured it's time for a good old get to know Amy post.

It might be hard to dig up some new material, since we had this post not too long ago, but I'll see what I can do.

Sweet Home Santa Barbara is the definition of a lifestyle blog. In its year and a half of existence  it's gone through about as many phases as seasons in a year.

But according to Santa Barbara weather, that would be 2.

Basically, as my life has changed, so has this blog. And as I've gotten to know myself better, bloggy here has gotten more consistent.

My favorite thing to blog about is my faith. In the last year and a half, my relationship with Jesus has become the center of my life. So naturally, that's going to take the front seat in Blogland, too.

In the past few months, I've been switching gears from cooking to fashion.

Hoping to get my butt back in the kitchen to try out some more recipes, but for now it seems like my passion is in taking seriously professional quality outfit pics. And getting all sorts of hashtag happy with #ootd.

Now don't all jump at once to ask me to schedule a photo session for you.

I'll bring the iPhone, you bring the weird lighting. And before you know it I'll have some of these top notch quality photos for you, too!

I also like to blog about my adventures with running, the love/hate relationship that is predominantly love these days.

But back last year when my good friend running landed me in this lovely boot?

Well, it's safe to say it wasn't as much of a loving relationship then.

I also like to travel, and have some pretty lofty goals, both nationally and internationally.

Any new readers happen to be loaded and want to foot the travel bill?

No? Well, a girl can dream.

Just like I can dream about my future husband, and how wonderful we will look together:

One day, one day those dreams will come true.

But until then, this girl's got her heart set on the big Man upstairs. And I'd say that relationship's going pretty darn well for me ;)

Well, enough about me. Tell me about you!
